E-mails have today been sent off today to the local Partnership Schools to nominate young players for the upcoming PFDC trials. Parents are asked to speak to their schools in order to ensure they have returned the Trial Nomination form no later than Friday 23rd September. If your child isn't nominated by their school but you feel they should have been, please contact Jake Ash on jash@penryn-college.cornwall.sch.uk Please find below the e-mail that has been sent to the Schools today: ---------------------------------------------- Dear School, Designed and supported by Cornwall FA & Cornwall Schools FA, the Development Centres are designed to provide an opportunity for young players to improve, through enhanced standards of coaching and provision. This particular structure therefore targets players who possess strong levels of ability for their age. The Centres are designed to operate below professional Centre of Excellence’s and above school / club football, co-operating with them to ensure a development pathway for young players. Our centre at Penryn College is now in its third year, and is hoping to prosper further after a thoroughly successful first couple of seasons where all participants showed marked improvement across different techniques, and we also saw numerous players be offered opportunities by professional clubs. Each school is being asked to nominate their strongest football players, boys or girls, in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. Please limit the amount of players you nominate to a maximum of 3 players per age group per school, unless under exceptional circumstances. Details for the two PFDC assessment sessions are as follows. Players must attend both sessions. Venue: PFDC @ Penryn College All players attending the trial dates should bring a drink, shin-pads and wear appropriate playing kit/footwear for artificial-turf. This year the list of selected players will appear on the Penryn Football Development Centre website (www.pfdc.co.uk) by Wednesday 5th October. Enclosed is a programme mandate that further explains the Primary Development Centres aims and objectives and also a letter than can be sent out to selected players and their parents. |
