Firstly, thank you for attending the trials over the past two weeks. Andy was really impressed with the standard of the players and has already expressed his excitement at working with the players selected over the coming year.

Those players (and parents) selected are asked to attend our welcome meeting which will further explain the programme on Tuesday 14th October between 4.30pm – 5.30pm at the College. The first half an hour will be used to explain the Academy and talk about the seasons plan. The second part of the session will then be a training session. Parents are encouraged to stay and watch should they wish to.

We have setup a club shop this season, and players selected will be given the link to purchase kit at the first session next week.

For the players that aren’t selected, we understand that you will be disappointed. As we said before, all young athletes progress and improve at different speeds and ages, so just because we didn’t pick you this time doesn’t mean you won’t get a chance at a later date.

There are also a host of activities going on at the school which we encourage EVERYONE to get involved in. Any sporting activity, whichever sport, will help with your basketball development.

Finally, thank you again for your participation over the past two weeks; we hope you have enjoyed yourselves.

If any has any questions or queries, please contact Jake Ash via jash@penryn-college.cornwall.sch.uk

[added: 11/10/17]

Thank you once again to all the players for attending the trials over the past two weeks. The standard of the trials was very good which has made selection EXTREMELY hard, especially given the amount of players who turned up. As we said on the evening, it is an honour alone to be selected for these trials by your schools, so well done already.

We have decided NOT to have a standalone JUNIOR goalkeeping group this year. We feel that it is extremely important for all players to develop the ability with their feet, and have sound technical capabilities. Therefore, we have picked several goalkeepers who will train within their age groups. All groups will then have access to goalkeeping sessions as part of this year's curriculum. We feel it is very early for players to specialise in one position, and thus want them to develop their skills with the ball at their feet first and foremost.

The following players are invited to be part of the LTPD for the coming season.

Those players selected are invited to the Welcome Meeting between 5.00-6.00 on Monday 16th October, at the school. THIS IS A NON TRAINING EVENING so players can attend in any attire. We use this evening to explain the programme and the season ahead.

All players selected are asked to print and complete this form (click here) to bring on Monday or it can simply be completed and emailed to Jake - jash@penryn-college.cornwall.sch.uk

For the players that aren’t selected, we understand that you will be disappointed. It is very, very difficult to pick out a small amount of players from such a large and talented group. All young footballers progress and improve at different speeds and ages, so just because we didn’t pick you this time doesn’t mean you won’t get a chance at a later date.

We always suggest that those players not selected attend our Mini Soccer programme on Saturday mornings where we can track your progress. These sessions run between 9.15 – 12.00pm on the 3G Astro Turf at the College. We would love to see lots of you at these sessions and continue to follow your improvement – for more information about specific sessions please see below.

If any has any questions or queries, please contact Jake Ash via jash@penryn-college.cornwall.sch.uk
